Minerva Homestay is the only agency in Montreal recommended to students first by both McGill and Concordia University. (Click here to see our letter of recommendation). Click here to read Vanier College's letter.

Concordia's siteFounded seven years ago by Rosalie Miller-Hodson, an experienced host mother, writer, English teacher, and mother of three young adults, Minerva Homestay has a multi-lingual staff of five to serve you and a data bank of over 150 homes to provide a comfortable, caring place to stay for people over the age of 18 while they study, work, or vacation in Montreal.

Staying with a host family offers a unique opportunity to learn a language with native speakers while experiencing Canadian culture in a natural, relaxed setting. Host families offer security, friendship and support, and many people form life-long friendships with their hosts.

Our host families are personally interviewed and carefully selected from among educated professionals who offer a comfortable standard of living. Several hosts have diplomas to teach English or French as a second language, but all our families enjoy meeting people from different cultures and helping them learn a language in the comfort of their home. Not only do we offer safe, warm hospitality for guests at lower costs, but we also provide strong support in a foreign country through our counseling and activities programs.
